Coaches and Tennis Enthusiasts!

Do you avoid charging the net because you feel out of position in the middle of the court? Do you find yourself taking low percentage low balls in the air rather than letting them bounce?

So many recreational and league players feel as though they need to hit the ball in the air if they are closer to the net. Players with good instincts can generally judge whether or not to hit the ball in the air. If you are having trouble with balls at your feet or don’t feel confident approaching the net try this:

1) When charging the net split step before your opponent makes contact.
This will give you enough time to decide whether or not to let the ball
bounce or hit it in the air

2) If it’s a slow paced ball move back let the ball bounce up and hit a more
aggressive shot.

And remember… you don’t have to be a pro to train like a pro!
