In this clip, my rising star Bertha backed up from the net preparing for a hard return of serve. So many women do this because so many recreational women have weak 2nd serves. BUT I try to emphasize the importance of staying tight to the net so you don’t let your opponents have a lot of room to hit to. (I call that, “Don’t Give Up The Kitchen Sink”)
From one point to another she made an adjustment to stand closer on the 2nd serve and handled the return like a champ!
If you don’t have the stomach to handle the hard return, go all the way back to the baseline instead of the service line.
