Tennis Coaches and Fans;
By positioning yourself in “No Man’s Land” you might as well get your toll money out and hit the turnpike!
So many recreational players find them plopped in no man’s land due to several factors. First, they wait for their opponents to hit before reacting and then it’s too late. And second, their lack of footwork automatically keeps them in the wrong spot.
In this clip you can hear my focus student of the day complain about her shot rather than her court position. This is typical of rec players as they don’t focus on their feet.
If you want to take control of the court you have to get out of NO MANS LAND.
Team Forman Tennis: GET OUT OF NO MANS LAND
1) Either up or back
2) React to your shot instead of waiting for your opponents shot
3) After your serve bounce back behind the baseline
4) Keep your feet in motion
5) Work on footwork in your lessons
Remember – you don’t have to be a pro to train like a pro!
