The opinions have been aired, the debates will continue. Let’s use the U.S.Open Women’s final as a great opportunity to teach our students how to handle pressure and not revert to blaming all but themselves in a match.
We all can agree that highly competitive tennis players are passionate and full of fire! But, some personalities under intense pressure revert to the blame game. I’m working hard on teaching my students (many women) (not easy), to dig deep within and find fault with themselves when they lose a match rather than blame all external factors. If they keep looking elsewhere for the blame, they can’t grow as players.
Remember, you don’t have to be a pro, to train like a pro!
