Tennis Enthusiasts:
When retrieving a lob, if you have the opportunity to hit the ball in the air it would considerably increase your chances of winning the point. If you’re behind the ball when you let the ball bounce you can’t catch up with spin, bounce ect….
Visual:
Use the analogy of a baseball player catching an outfield fly ball.
They drop back to get a jump on the ball in an effort to get behind the ball. Same theory for retrieving the lob. If you can’t get behind the ball, “catch” the ball in the air.
Remember – you don’t have to be a pro to train like a pro!
